Chapter 05

Fees

Basis point. One hundredth of a percent. The protocol fee is 15 of them: 0.15% of the token you sell, on every swap and every TWAP slice.

The protocol fee is 15 basis points of the sell amount.

fee = sell ร— 15 / 10_000
swapIn = sell โˆ’ fee

Fifteen basis points is 0.15%. On a sell of 1,000 tokens, the fee is 1.5 tokens. The pool trades the other 998.5. The quote on screen is the buy amount after this skim and after the pool fee on the route.

Two dispositions

The quote sets feeDisposition from the sell token.

  • burn when the sell token is ๐Ÿš€ and it is not native ETH. The fee calls burn(fee) on 0x6B12ec435f15F823ee3C550e9013123e4187429B inside the swap. Those tokens are destroyed in that transaction. There is no buyback on this path.
  • buyback-reserve for every other sell token. The fee is transferred to the treasury, 0x004CD7Ef4b452865c59EcD93F5EDAbA8e6df0227, and held there for a ๐Ÿš€ buyback and burn. It is not burned in that swap.

Native ETH cannot be burned. A sell of ETH uses the treasury path. A sell of ๐Ÿš€ is the only swap that burns in place.

This is not a transfer tax on holders. The fee is taken only from the amount you sell, in the sell token, at trade time.

What the interface shows

Selling ๐Ÿš€, the card says the fee is burned onchain in this swap. Selling anything else, it says the fee is held for a ๐Ÿš€ buyback and burn and shows the treasury address. TWAP uses the same split inside execute: ๐Ÿš€ fees call burn, other fees are pushed to treasury.

Fees that are not this 15 bps

Uniswap and Pons pools charge their own fee, in the pool, before your output is known. That fee is inside the quote. It does not go to the RocketSwap treasury. Gas is paid to the chain, by you on a swap and by the filler or keeper on gasless and TWAP fills.
